I wanna add a little more power to the GSR. I always see people taking out back seats for weight reduction, but really does it even make a difference? How much do they weigh? If it isnt going to make a noticable difference than I dont even want to bother going theough the hassle of taking them out. The only performance mod i got on it is a SKUNK2 catback exhaust system.

Serious answers please thanks.

i have a V6 mustang 07 and have an idea of a setup but i need opinions on the pieces and i need mechanical info such as how much horesepower i can expect and if there will be any issues with the setup mechanicaly
here is the setup---
bbk cold air intake unit
bbk 70mm throttle body--uses factory gaskets
bbk short headers---will this still be able to use factory pipes?
flowmaster single exhaust-- how does it sound?--what is the difference in the regular and the 409 stainless steel what makes it better?? the cost difference is about $60 is it worth it??
--iridium spark plugs--will they make that much of a difference?--will they be too powerful for a v6 210hp motor?--will i need a higher performance wiring system to get them to get full potential??

also would like to know about suspension pieces if i were to buy any what pieces would make the most difference with the least amount of cost??? strut tower braces? front and rear sway bars???

i am looking for performance parts for my polo i don't mean tacky rubbish out of halfords and motorworld i mean like
camshafts,
cams,
inlet manifolds,
exhaust systems,
suspension kits

because i typed them in many search engine and all they comes up with is webs site with cheesy chrome gear knobs which is not what im looking for

I have been working my arse off restoring and enhancing a 1st Gen Explorer to get it ready for Glamis. But the Cologne V6 isn't an engine with a wide variety of aftermarket support. But not to say it isn't versatile - maybe not the best fit for the Explorer engine bay, but it's a solid engine if it's taken care of.
The internet is a great source of information, no question. But I was curious if there's a universal guide for aftermarket/performance work on the 91-94 Explorer/Rangers. If not a physical resource, is there any websites with straightforward vehicle specific guides?
The ignition system, air intake systems/adapting, electronics units, exhaust modifications/tuning, etc. - these are things there is information in short supply.
Ive already milked explorer.com, seriousexplorations, and 4x4zone.
So dismiss these from suggestions. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

ok i have a exhaust system, but i have no tip, so like the exhaust is just long about 2meters then it goes to a hurricane muffler(i think, square ish box) then goes to the catalytic converter than to the headers then engine.( its on a ute)

now can i put a Performance exhaust tip on it, or would i have to get rid of the (hurricane muffler) i am confused because its not at the end of the exhaust.

I have a 2009 cobalt lt and was interested in getting a performance cat back exhaust that sounds good and doesn't break the bank too much. Any suggestions? Thanks

Want to supercharge a 2004 Pontiac GTO with a vortech supercharger. Runs 8.5 psi, brings the stock hp of 350 to 490.

I am going to get the engine rebuilt, because the car has 50,000 mile on it. I am going to get new forged rods, pistons, racing heads, larger cam, etc. Then I would get performance exhaust, intake, larger throttle body, larger gear set (3.75, or higher) etc.

My question is can I use this vortech system with 490hp with my stock transmission and stock rear end?

i just got a 1994 bmw 325i manual with 140000 miles on it. i want to put performance parts in like cold air intake and exhaust system. what else should i do to it to get more power? should i rebuild the engine? replace the clutch? thanks and i have about 10k to put in it.

I was doing some research, and I was wondering if it's true that if I swapped out my fuel injectors if it would create more power (HP/TQ)? also would it even be noticeable as far as power increase? how will it effect fuel? Just wondering what I can do it enhance the performance of my car. I'm not trying to boost or build a block, nor am I trying to throw down serious power or cause any unreliable circumstances. Just trying to 'enhance' some power. I know adding on a intake, exhaust system and so on would be some simple power enhancements. My goal is to keep under $150.00/ per part. What are some things I can adjust and what are some add ons?

'04 Mazda 3. Manual.
Yea, planning to get an exhaust system..maybe even down piped, short ram, maybe even headers, and of course chipping.

I love my car to death! amazing set up with the body kit and carbon fiber hood with my wheels...and the customized interior....though she isnt that fast....should I just buy simple upgrades such as...cool air intake...straight pipe exhaust system..intercooler.performance chip....and things like that...will they help that much...im mostly worried about the acceleration..itrs pretty slow..or should I try to sell it and get a manual....please what should I do

How much would it cost for a basic exhaust ( pipes and muffler )? A mid-level exhaust? The best exhaust system? Explain the difference in quality, performance, and how long each can last.

why does a performance exhaust system increases power?

I recently purchased an cat back exhaust system, apexi n1 knockoff, I bought it off of ebay brand new for 115.00 + free shipping. should exhaust sound better than factory? how much performance gain should I expect. should I keep this exhaust, or in the long run purchase a name brand one? will I be happy with new exhaust?

The car has 160k miles it's manual and is about 4 thousand dollars. I plan on putting in performance parts cold air intake, exhaust system new tires anything else I should do or put in? Do you think that I should rebuild the engine cause of all the miles?

i have a 1999 eclipse and my acceleration is horrible! i already have a catback exhaust system in it what else can i install to increase the acceleration?...please tell me what the parts called price and link me somewhere thanks...the car is an automatic

I have a 2004 Road King Custom and I want to change my exhaust system. Right not I have the stock cross over exhaust with Screaming eagle slip ons, I also have a stage 1 KIT wich is just a bigger Air Cleaner system to get more Air in.

I want the new exhaust system to be nice and Loud and give me more performance... I am thinking about ThunderHeader 2 into 1 with a false pipe.. but I hear they aren't the best in quality as far as the craftsmanship. I don't want to pay for a new exhaust system to have it only last a year and look like crap.

Anyone have any ideas.. remember I want them Loud enough so that cars here me when I a splitting lanes..

Also are 2 into 1's better then ..... True Duals...? Which should I get... I will likely be adding CAM's soon also.. since I have the Stage 1 and will be changing Exhaust too.. . Thanks everyone.

i have a 1998 honda civic dx sedan and was going to put in a cold air intake, exhaust system, headers, and a high flow catalytic converter. is this the right thing to do to improve performance? and what do i need to do so i don't damage the engine? additional parts? thanks.
@ Shaft-
doesn't swapping engines make it incredibly hard to pass DEQ?

I'm looking to replace my exhaust system, and wanted to go the performance road, but unfortunately there's no aftermarket love for Gen3 Camry drivers. I was wondering then, would the OBX headers (or headers in general) for the 1997 1MZ-FE be compatible with the 1993 3VZ-FE V6? Incidentally, the 1MZ V6 was used in Camry's from 1994+

I recently got a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 as a gift. Everything in the engine is stock, the only custom part it has is custom exhaust system(not sure what) and rims and tires. I would drive like 40 miles a day everyday.

Now my question is, what are some thing that i should upgrade to make it more powerful or overall better

or what can i do to make it more fuel efficient. either works with me.
thanks
Its a V8, and i got like $500 spending money for the truck....thanks

i know everything about making my car have the loudest sounds from after market battery, alternator, box size,amp,etc.. Body kits, lip kits, etc. but i want to improve the performance.

my ideal dream would be to make a fast car from a stock civic, but keep it NA(natural aspirated) with a completely built engine.

All i know is to install a sports suspension, low pro tires, light rims, carbon kit, performance exhaust system, intake, aftermarket spark plugs, starter, gas pump, headers, head gasket, cam shaft, ecu settings, and all the sensors/gauges to monitor it.

What else do you suggest i install to the call.

this car was given to me, i was going to buy a civic stick, but i couldnt refuse accepting a free car. so anyone know any way i can improve the performance on this car. no ricing at all... im thinking intake, quiet exhaust system, headers, sport tires?

Hi guys im hoping you can help. This weekend i had a cat back exhaust system fitted. The blokes at the garage recommended a de cat as well, increasing performance and economy although it needs to be swapped over for mot's as it will fail emissions.

Any way the guys did a great job and the exhaust sounds good not offensive but definately noticable by the way the car responds. Ive now driven about 200 miles and the EML light has just come on.

The guys at the garage said this wouldnt happen what do you think could be causing this ? They've put the lambda sensor into the "de cat" pipe perhaps they could of damaged it ? The car smells very rich like its over fuelling.

Any advice would be appreciated, i dont want to fork out for a sports cat. The car is a 1.8 Honda accord Thank you Lewis

Trying to increase performance and I have cold air intake, K&N filter, exhaust system and the truck lower and lightened. Thinking the next cheapest step might be to get a nitrous kit since turbos n super chargers r a bit too pricey. I am just concerned about potential damage to my engine, and what would even be the best kit to get if I went that path?
Also it has an automatic transmission, would that be potentially harmful for the transmission with it being an automatic if it tries to shift mid nitrous shot or any other scenario that could damage the transmission?

On a 2000 Mazda MPV (V6), what happens if only the pipes are increased by 1/4" and maintaining stock muffler? Will there be any sort of increase in performance, if any?

Hi, I have a ford ranger 54 reg 2.5td supercab and i want to make it sound awesome. But i have no clue what to get to make it sound nice. Could i just buy a muffler or would i have to get a new exhaust or just buy a new back box? Would it be expensive and easy to put on? Can universal exhaust systems, muffler, back boxes fit on a ford ranger or would i have to buy specific parts for the truck (customised)?
Does anyone have suggestions for parts and internet webites (preferbly uk postage)? Do performance exhausts make it a lot faster with a awesome sound?
Thanks a lot, Joe

i have a derbi gpr 50, 2009 model, i have put an air filter on it, i think it has a 21mm carb on it, 99% sure, i have also change the end section of the exhaust to a 125 gpr can and that makes it sound a lot better but i don't think it is doing much to the performance, no i was thinking of getting a full exhaust system but not sure if it will make a lot of difference?

or other performance parts

I recently planned a set of modifications to my partneras Volvo C30. The following are the street-legal modifications that were completed.

First set of upgrades:

1. IPD Upgraded software and chip set (reversible to factory setting); resetting the standard software in her Volvo Electronic Control Module (ECM) to enhance the sensitivity to get a better throttle response, increased power and torque which results in faster acceleration.

2. IPD safety anti-sway bars

3. IPD Heavy Duty End Links

4. Performance Brake Kit - 320mm rotors, pads, calipers, anchor plates, brake lines, spring clips, and high performance brake fluid.

Second set of upgrades (Note: setup to fulfill the 95dB noise limit):

1. Evolveas Turbo Intake Pipe (Note: It isnat a complete air intake system, just the piping was changed).

2. Evolveas Sport Exhaust System

3. Evolveas 3" Downpipe

4. Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 215/45R18 tyres

i've looked everywhere and i just cant find what i want..... anyone know where i can get any type of performance parts to increase its power or what will fit on it, ive heard of putting headers from a mustang? or anywhere i can find body kits for it as well?
cold air intakes...
exhaust systems....
super chargers....
suspension....
ANYTHING?
its the 5.0L V8

I'm going to be installing an aftermarket performance exhaust system on my car and was wondering how can I tell if the muffler shop is installing stainless steel pipes instead of regular steel that will start rusting in 3-4 years? I would hate to spend the extra money on stainless steel only ending up getting scammed with just regular steel.

I already ordered cold air intake from google..but i dnt think its that great, it was $55...theress already a nice exhaust system in it....basically tell me anything and everything to do! thanks

I have a 2004 v6 mustang and the guy I bought it from already put on a cold air intake system, low profile racing tires and cobra mustang rims, Chrome Dual exhaust, rand raised hood. It's all black with black interior and has a automatic transmission with a v6. It took me 4 summers to pay for it and it's my first car. I've already had it for a year. I'm looking for ways to increase the acceleration and horse power. But doesn't make the gas mileage any worse than it is. the wide tires give me terrible gas mileage as it is.

I have a 2000 V6 Firebird with a fuel injection system, standard 3.8L. I can put either Regular Unleaded in the gas tank OR If I want I can put Premium Unleaded. What rules should I consider, and will it enhance performance and sound cleaner whenever i get a flowmaster dual exhaust cat-back system on it?

I have a 69 suzuki t125.

For the record, this is a 2 cylinder 125cc 2 stroke motor. (you don't have to pre-mix the oil. it does it for you.

it's rated at about 15hp, and tops out between 70-80 depending on wind direction and if i'm crouched over the gas tank, etc.... in a tail wind wearing tighter clothing and a full faced helmet, i actually got 85 one time on the freeway...

I'll preface my question with this......

If i wanted to go 220 mph down the freeway, obviously i'd buy a hayabusa.

That's not what i'm looking for. I would however like to add an extra 3- 5 horsepower if possible to potentially help me keep speed when climbing a hill with my girlfriend on the back.

I will say this. I have ridden a LOT of bikes, and this bike handles better than any bike i have ever ridden to date. This includes Ninjas, CBR's, etc. it may not have a high top speed, but i can take a hair pin with no problems...

sorry.. back on topic..

Parts are NOT easy to find for this bike. they stopped producing parts for it 20+ years ago. back in the day, they had lots of performance parts for them, but finding one that specifically fits this bike is going to be nearly impossible... anything i do like exhaust or intake will have to be fabricated and made to fit by hand (which i can do to some extent).

SO... given that, what can i do to make it a little more powerful?

For the record also, it's a 6v system...

Thanks in advance for the legitimate and helpful answers.
hmm.. thanks.... yeah i wasn't sure if the 185 had the same style motor. i think the 250's are different. i'll have to check into that. i would be ok with upgrading it to a 185 if it mounts the same way.
-- the t185 has a different style motor that requires it to have a frame under the motor, but like you said, i may be able to make the barrels fit... i'll look into that.

i have a 2002 volkswagen jetta gls 4cyl 2.0. i want a good, deep exhaust system thats fairly cheap and isnt loud and obnoxious. just somethin that sounds more performance with a deep tone.

any suggestions? websites i can look at to preview sounds?

a pontiac grand prix with stock 3800 series 3.8 liter. cold air intake, wider intake/throttle body, ported supercharger, 2.9" pulley, intercooler, headers, custom computer, larger inecters, modified transmission, flowmaster exhaust system, rockers, lowered an inch and a half, high performance suspension assumably my friend says he has all that or my stock v8 Lexus sc 430
p.s. his is a yr 2003 while mine is a 09

Is this a good deal?

ADD in Craigslist----A 94 ACURA integra just bought a truck so I want to sell this to take a chunk off my truck payment 4 spd automatic transmission, 110,000 on motor, cold air intake, full exhaust system, 17 inch tensor r rims with low pro tires, performance fuel injectors, halo headlights n smoke taillights, windows are tinted, also have side skirts n wing not installed tho, and a sub with built in amp pics upon request be quick WON'T last at this price 2200!

I am a first time driver and am buying my first car- just making sure if this is the right one!

For some of you who don't really know Saleen, Saleen is to Ford as RUF is to Porsche.

Saleen is a independent company and is not owned by Ford.

People look at the outside andi? (based on it's appearance) automatically say "Its a Ford Mustang".
However, the only thing the Saleen cars themselves has in common with the Ford Mustang is cosmetic parts. Underneath that
cosmetic faAade is All Saleen performance parts. There are enough changes made by Saleen to merit the cars as it's
own creation.

Besides most people obviously dont understand the legal systemi? and who has registered rights to the corresponding vehicle.
Ford has nothing to do with the Saleens(such as the s281e,s302e, and sms), nor does Ford own the rights to the cars. The cars themselves may have started life as a Ford Mustang, however once Saleen is done replacing the vehicles OE mechanical and cosmetic parts, there is very little of Ford (if any) left in the car.

The Saleens is more than just a copycat Tuner version of the Mustang. Saleen itself is subject to the exact same federali? regulations governing automotive design as GM, Chrysler LLC, Ford and various other manufactures. So as I said earlier, its not a Mustang.

The engines for the S281 Extreme and S302 Extreme are built in-house underi? the supervision of Saleen Chief Engineer Neil Hannermann and Engine Department Manager Bill Tally.

keep in mind that the S-Series(S302 and S281)are not mustangs, these cars did start life as mustangs but when Saleen gets a hold of these vehicles they replace ALL of Fords OE mechanical and cosmetic parts.

Thei? life of the S-Series begins, like all Saleen production cars, on the floor of the company's 131,000 square foot facility.

The new cars proceeds down Saleen's assembly line. The car is completely gutted from nose to tail. ALL Ford parts are removed:
Ford OE Transmission and Transmission Assembly Gone. Ford OE Suspension and Chassis, Shocks, Springs, Control Arms Gone.
Ford OE Brakes and Brake Assembly Gone. Ford OE Wheels and Tires Gone. Ford OE Engine and Exhaust System Gone.
Ford OE Air Feed System Gone.i? Ford OE Front Clip Gone. Ford OE Rear Clip and Spoiler Gone. Ford OE Hood Gone.

Ford Factory Fit & Finish Gone. Even the factory Ford color is ... Gone. All Saleens are painted in colors developed by BASF.

The Ford OE Computer Management System is snatched out and replaced by a Specially Programmed Saleen Computer System. Saleen calls it "PowerFlash".
The engines for the S-Series are built in-house underi? the supervision of Saleen Chief Engineer Neil Hannermann and Engine Department Manager Bill Tally.

PLUS, Ford's vin number is gone n replaced by Saleens own vin number.(regardless if the vehicle is still registeres as it's former self)

Also, a FORD dealership cannot market, order, take delivery, sell, repair or perform schedule maintenance on a Saleen product unless Saleen "certifies" the dealership first. A Ford dealership that wants to market, sell, etc. a Saleen product must
contact Saleen directly to begin the Certification process. It should be noted that Certification is not easy, iti? is very demanding for a dealership. Not all Ford dealerships get certified

I have a 1999 lincoln navigator and i'm going to change the exhaust system to a Gibson Aluminized Swept Side Performance Cat-Back Exhaust System.

It's not a big deal now that it's getting colder outside, but when It's a hot day, my computer makes it worse. I do have AC in my room, but sometimes that can be a little bit energy consuming! My computer has a lot of high performance parts in it and a lot of exhaust fans, but when I play a game or do something that requires the computer to work harder, it pumps out some major heat! There's not currently anything that I can do to increase the cooling power of the heatsinks and fans in my computer, because I already have some of the best for my setup. What I'm wondering is.......... do they make a special vent system or something for computers so that most or all of the exhaust can be directed outside, or in another room even? I know it might sound silly, but I think it would help save a little money as far as electricity goes. And please, smart asses don't need to even bother with this, because I hate people like that!
oh look, a smart ass already!

Hey I has just bought a Holden VS II (V6 Eco-Tec) and currently its almost stock except for some extractors and a performance exhaust. I have ordered an LSD for it and am looking a a twin throttle body. By the way i want to set it up as a drift car. I also plan to give it new pistons, cam shaft, Mo-Tec engine management system, dual fuel pump, new oil pump, Exhaust Flame Kit and does anyone know someone that could install dual injectors. I'm on my P's so no forced induction.

Anyway, i need to know how to get good low end power to keep the wheels spinning and for a quick take off. what is a gear ratio and final drive ratio for low end power?

Thanks

I'm thinking of my personal dream car.
2 door compact.
0-60 below 7 sec
Curb weight under 2800 for performance and economy
35 mpg or better
HID lights
Sunroof
Hopefully around 200hp/lb.ft.
18+" wheels
Very nice interior (obviously everyone's opinion varies, I personally like
Mazda's 3/6 look, don't care for the space age
melted butter interiors from Honda/Toyota)
Excellent sounding exhaust
Manual trans. with performance clutch
Lots of high tech features(VW?)
500+W sound system with lots of different connectivity options including USB
LOVE Prius' solar AC system but that's pushing it
Several AC outlets and interior color accents (VW Fahrenheit?)
Quiet ride even at 100mph should I choose
SOLID RELIABILITY (no weird body or powertrain noises or clunks
after just 50K miles)
Ya exactly, 7 secs isn't that fast just quick and just perfect for me part of the reason I'm wondering is my old Escort got 40+mpg and did 60 in less than 8 I always just wished they built a new model with way more features and wow factor I don't care if it's a little pricey, for all that I mentioned, I'd pay $30K. Or hell, just somebody build a really quick compact hybrid coupe I just hate driving around in a
huge boat all for the sake of "safety".

I have a 91' Chevy Camaro 305. I am looking to put together a high performance Exhaust system. Where can I find options for everything in front of the catalytic converter? By the way everything needs to be emissions friendly.

I am getting a new exhaust system for my VU Commodore ute (LS1 V8) and getting quotes but undecided whether to pay the extra for headers.

I have been given a few prices ranging from $1000 - $1250 extra for headers on top of a cat-back performance exhaust. I have been told that I will get an extra 20-30 kW. For that price and power gain is it worth it, will I feel the extra power driving it, or is it only measurable on a dyno?

It already has a cold air induction kit and high flow air-filter.

I have a Ford F 250 and just want it to sound deep and beefy and would like that extra power also. What muffler and exhaust system would someone out there recommend for my money,, and I dont mean alot of money. I am on a budget but have enough to play with.....help, I wouldnt mind doing the labor myself to save some money...

Hi
i have got a astra sport 07 plate i am looking at an exhaust system dual one so there is one either side at back. can any body recommend a good one. i am mainly looking for performance but a bit of noise don't want it to over the top tho?
thanks
